This training program will assist the user in learning hand signals as related to pipelayer/sideboom operations.
These hand signals exist in the industry in various forms. In this program, we will show the hand signals for pipelayer/sideboom operation as stipulated under ASME 30.14 and also as commonly seen in practice in the industry.
These two types of hand signals are often different, and while ASME 30.14 provides required hand signals for use, it is important that operators are also aware of the hand signals that have existed in the industry for decades. There are also instances where ASME 30.14 hand signals do not exist for actions that are required when operating a pipelayer/side boom, but where traditional hand signals do exist.
The course is designed to be self-driven by the student and may be taken all at once, or over a length of time.
Upon completion of the lesson, the student takes the final exam which has a one hour time limit and has a certify/pass mark of 100%. This course allows two attempts at the Post-Exam.
